It added that the "fuller details on this" will be disclosed soon. ![]() In a statement, a spokesperson for the coalition confirmed that the three parties have reached an agreement to work together to lead the council. But it lost seven seats across the district - now only holding 15. The authority was formerly controlled by the local Conservative Party who held a commanding majority of more than 60 per cent before the election. Councillor Barbara Johnson has also been nominated as the council's chair. Lib Dem Councillor Phil Knowles will now take the reigns as council leader following his nomination by the coalition group. The Liberal Democrats, Labour and Greens have agreed to work together to take control of the council for the next four years.
